by Shara Feltz MSN, CRNP, IBCLC & Roberta Margot RN, IBCLC

Shara Feltz – Head of Lactation Services, THH Division

Shara Feltz MSN, CRNP, IBCLC is the Head of Lactation for THH Pediatrics Lactation Division.   As a Nurse Practitioner specializing in breastfeeding medicine, Shara is capable of treating mothers and babies with more complicated clinical breastfeeding difficulties. Shara has extensive experience in the physical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of lactation problems.  She has worked with newborns who have complex medical issues including prematurity, multiple births, heart defects, pulmonary conditions, and hyperbilirubinemia.

As a mother of four, Shara has also experienced the challenges of balancing work, breastfeeding and pumping personally. She strives to help families balance these challenges to reach their goals and achieve a positive breastfeeding experience.

Shara is a member of NAPNAP Breastfeeding Special Interest Group, the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA), Lactation Consultants Association of Greater Washington (LCAGW) and the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA).

Roberta Margot – Lactation Consultant, THH Division

We are happy to announce the additional of Roberta Margot to our Lactation Consultation team. She is a registered nurse and an international board certified lactation consultant. Since 2009, Roberta has helped new parents achieve their breastfeeding goals in the hospital, home, and outpatient setting. Her passion for breastfeeding began back in the late 1970s, with the birth of her first child, at a time when there was scant information on lactation for new moms compared with today. Local La Leche League meetings offered peer support, and soon the cultural support for, and appreciation of the benefits of breastfeeding began to grow globally.

Earlier in her nursing career, Roberta worked in the adult cardiac medical field, and later as an office nurse in a family practice and also with a local pediatric group. Her education and experience have taught her that while nursing a child can be a deeply rewarding part of parenting, it does not always come without difficulty or challenges. Her goal is always to provide compassionate, individualized, and evidenced based care, and help families cherish the bond with their baby, however the feeding experience unfolds.

Roberta earned her RN from Nassau Community College, NY, in 1975, her BSN from the University of Maryland in 2005, and her IBCLC certification in 2009. She is an active member of USLCA and ILCA lactation organizations, and is the proud grandmother of 6 beautiful, breastfed grandchildren!

Flu Drive thru clinics are open for scheduling today. Please contact a staff member to schedule an appointment today.

Although  the CDC has stated that fully vaccinated people do not need to wear masks in most settings, this does not include healthcare settings. THH Pediatrics still requires all patients and visitors to wear a mask when they come to the office.

THH recommends all children 12  and older get vaccinated against COVID 19.  We currently  have not received  COVID vaccine from the state, but we do plan on vaccinating for COVID in the near future. We will update  our website, facebook page, and phone message when vaccine becomes available.

Our CHADIS screening process has changed for Well Child Care (WCC). Please check our CHADIS page and fill out your screen prior to your  well check up to make your WCC experience more complete.

We have restarted our evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays, but we will continue to not have Thursday evening and  Saturday morning hours   until further notice. We are seeing well check ups for all ages. THH will continue to schedule telemedicine visits and appropriate sick visits in the office.
